Entry is by video. Imagine you are the judge, and video the movement in walk and trot, from front and from rear view. Video length to be maximum 30 seconds in landscape.
Open to all geldings, any age – we will be looking for the most handsome boy – Video Entry
One for the four-legged girls! If your lady horse is pretty, or just plain beautiful, why not enter this class? Open to all mares, irrespective of age! – Video Entry
We want to see those budding handlers! Open to all children age 14 & under. Take a video of your handler, appropriately dressed, leading the horse or pony in walk and trot. Judges will be looking for good control level and an obedient horse or pony! – Video Entry
This is the “Shropshire’s got talent” for all your clever horses and ponies out there. Do they have a party piece or turn a few tricks for treats? Why not send us in your videos to show us what clever chaps and lasses they are? Our judges are looking for originality & a good belly laugh! – Video Entry
It’s time to get creative and get dressed up! We want to see your fancy dress entries for your horse, whether ridden or in hand – judges will be looking for originality, humour and good co-ordination between horse and human – Video/Photo Entry
Have some fun in this class and show us how much owners can look like their horses! Do you have matching ponytails? or similar colouring? Be creative if you need to be – an element of dressing up of the owner is allowed – Photo Entry
For all you budding horse whisperers out there. You need to have a flat field or arena to try this, plus a few items to set up the obstacles. Follow the guidelines on the course and get your horse’s agility ability videoed from the front. Judges will be marking according to the stated marks and issuing rosettes for the tests with least penalties. Videos to be no more than 4 minutes long and handlers to be appropriately dressed in protective hat, gloves and sturdy shoes. Download the course below – Video Entry
So, what if you don’t have a horse? No problem….. Our fun classes are open to everyone. Grab yourself a hobby horse (or make one using a mop handle and a stuffed sock) and enter from the comfort of your living room or yard. Send us your video, with music, showing a number of dressage moves! We are looking for originality as well as accuracy and style and good movement to the music – Video to be no more than 2 minutes long
Are you an experienced or budding dressage rider? Please download our specific tests from the links below. Your video should be taken from the position at letter C and rider should be appropriately dressed wearing gloves, hat and suitable footwear. These are not BD tests but you must follow BD tack guidelines. Tests will be judged according to the test sheet with marks & comments available for you. Maximum video length to be 4 mins. The winners of each class will receive a 45min lesson with Brigette Tate.
Do you and your pony like to “dance to music?” Your test should be videoed at letter C and the rider should be appropriately dressed, wearing gloves, hat and suitable footwear. The test should be 3-4 minutes in length to include relevant movements at the chosen level. The winners of each class will receive a 45min lesson with Brigette Tate.
Please introduce the horse & rider/handler at the start of the video if possible. Otherwise, make sure you include the relevant names in the description box on the entry form.

Make a donation to the wonderful charities who are putting on this show and enter as many classes as you like. Once you fill out the entry form you will receive an email inviting you to upload your video or photo. This must be uploaded between 4th July and 10th August 2020. If you enter multiple classes, please label your video/photo file clearly with each class.
All entries of all the classes & competitions in our horse & pony show will be judged by Tracy Caldwell and Patsy Pyke. Judging will take place on 22nd August, and rosettes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Once entries close, we shall issue the timetable for each class, and you will be able to watch the entries on-line during the show.
